North Carolina Commandery donates to The Community Pregnancy Center
Mindful of its commitment towards the community in the various states within the US in which the Grand Priory of the US of the Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus operates, the Officers of the Grand Priory acceded to a number of requests by the commanders of the various Commanderies of the Order operating in the United States to donate to causes within their respective communities.
Thus, the Commander of the North Carolina Commandery of the Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem, Conseour Sherra c. Stephens-Jarrells, met with Jean, the co-founder of The Community Pregnancy Center of Mooresville, North Carolina, who accepted a much deserved, financial donation from Commandery of North Carolina of the Order. During the ceremony, Consoeur Sherra C. Stephens-Jarrellsfor praised the excellent work that the Center has given to the area for over 26 years.
The Community Pregnancy Center is a Christ-centered ministry committed to upholding the sanctity of human life by demonstrating the love of Christ to women facing crisis pregnancies through spiritual, physical and emotional support and by proclaiming the gospel. The center, founded in 1985, is committed to providing for the long-term, comprehensive support of women throughout their pregnancies as well as assistance via their support group program after the baby’s birth.
Two local women who saw the need to help women in crisis pregnancy founded Community Pregnancy Center in 1985. The center was incorporated as a 501-c-3 in 1987, and local churches, individuals, businesses and fundraising contribute to its financial support. The center provides many services free of charge, and all is done in strict confidence.
